Ride to Napoleon & Defiance

August 16th, 2006

Florida, Ohio

Today’s ride took us to the Southwest. Our scheduled stops were Napoleon Harley-Davidson, Henry County Airport, and Defiance Airport.

We left the Holland area and turned South just past Toledo Express. We rode through Neapolis and Liberty Center before arriving at Napoleon Harley-Davidson. Napoleon Harley is an awesome store. They have a museum that has a lot of vintage bikes.

From there, we headed Southeast to Henry County Airport and then travelled back into town. After crossing the river, we joined 424 and followed the Maumee River. We pulled over in Florida for a photo op. We then continued to Defiance. Our next stop was a park that was across from Fort Defiance.

We grabbed some lunch at Arby’s, drove past a big fish, and located the Defiance Memorial Airport. Not much was happening there, so we decided to head home. On the way back, we rode through Stryker, Archbold, Wauseon, and Delta.

We found an interesting place in near Archbold. It was someplace that Arch could learn to like. It’s called the Arch Hotel.

We will be riding most Wednesdays through the rest of the summer. Initially, we are going to visit the airports that are in our airspace. Check the LCC Calendar for details.
