We left the Best Western Charlottetown and headed for Wood Islands to catch the car ferry.

Originally, we had planned on backtracking across the Confederation Bridge; however, after mentioning the trip online, a representative from Northumberland Ferry Limited recommended their car ferry because it would save us about 3 hours of riding time. (Thanks, April!)

The crossing took about 85 minutes. Our motorcycles were the first onto the boat and the first off the boat as well. It saved us a lot of time and fuel and cost the same as the toll on the bridge.

We stopped for lunch in Antigonish and then proceeded to the causeway to Cape Breton Island.

We rode the Ceilidh Trail along the coast and joined the beginning of the Cabot Trail as we rode into Chéticamp.
